The Promise of Love

The prophets promised that love would compel God come near —Immanuel, God with us. In Jesus, that promise is fulfilled, revealing a love that is not earned and is more than a feeling. Revealing a sacrificial, steadfast, and personal love. Advent invites us to receive this gift and allow this love to shape how we live as we prepare for Christ’s coming.

Scripture: Isaiah 7:14, John 1:14, Romans 5:8, 1 John 4:19

From Series: "Prophets & Promises"

In 2 Corinthians 1:20, Paul writes, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ.” This season invites us to listen to the voices of the prophets—Isaiah, Micah, Zephaniah, and others who point to the divine promises of Jesus. During Advent, we celebrate God’s next “yes” --his fulfilled promises in each of our lives.
