Brian Richardson - June 1

What are you looking at?

Just like the aftershocks that follow an earthquake, Jesus' resurrecction and ascension were shocking, powerful, world-changing moments that continue to shape our faith and mission today. We live, we believe, and we serve in the tension between Christ's ascension and his return, but we are meant to be living aftershocks--carrying the power of the resurrection--into Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth! How are you living in the in-between?

Scripture: Luke 24:51-52, Acts 1:3-11

From Series: "Aftershocks"

Literal and figurative earthquakes surrounded Christ's death and resurrection. Easter changes everything! Aftershocks continued to be felt in these last days Jesus walked with his disciples. He continued to deal with our doubts, light hearts on fire, and remind us of our marching orders: believe, love, go, make, baptize, and teach. Before his ascension, Jesus ushers in a new struggle against tradition in the aftershocks of the resurrection... can you feel it?
