Strangers in a Strange Time
We may not be strangers in a strange land, but we are strangers in a strange time. As Christian influence wanes, exile helps us evaluate our lives, and, like Jonah, discover that God is up to something powerful among us. There is hope even in the belly of a fish--and God wants to use US to bless our Babylon.

The Bible is God’s saving story for each one of us, but what about the parts of the story that seem out of place? How does salvation fit the occupation by Rome, bondage in Egypt, and exile in Babylon? What if we understood these parts of the story as God’s way of saving us from ourselves? As we learn to embrace exile in today’s culture we will realize our purpose found in God’s grace…grace that still saves, provides freedom, and calls us to bless Babylon.
