Whose Image?

Mark 12 tells the Parable of the Tenants--but it's not a lesson in dollars and cents. It's not even about Rome or the image of Caesar. It's about lordship. The image we bear reflects who (or what) we worship. May our lives reveal his majesty and mercy as we humbly walk in the way of Jesus and give God what belongs to Him.

Scripture: Mark 12:13-17, Genesis 1:26, Romans 1:22-23, Exodus 20:3-5, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

From Series: "No Other King"

People are not convinced to follow Jesus because of what he taught. They.re convinced by what they see. Jesus taught us to look beyond the castles and crowns, positions and titles--not to fear, but to follow. It was not his teachings that attracted people to him, but rather how he loved. All the earthly kingdoms we still pursue--comfort, status, wealth, security, image--will leave us wanting. Only in Jesus do realize we need no other King.
