Scripture Reading: Psalm 63:1-8, Psalm 69:1-18
As we begin our 30 Days of Prayer and Fasting, we share in reading Psalm 63 together. David writes of seeking, thirsting, seeing, singing, remembering. It is a Psalm of praise and worship. We start here. As we pray this psalm, assume a posture of surrender. Hallow His name!
Read Psalm 69:1-18. As you read, consider the verbs the writer uses. What modern trials, attacks, burdens or difficulties would reflect the psalmist’s writing? The imagery portrayed is overwhelming, yet in prayer and fasting (vs. 10) we turn to The One in whom we find hope. Out of praise and worship we turn to prayer and fasting, recognizing the struggles before us and within us.
Pray praises to God, for God to reveal the what and the why for your fasting. Pray for and over who or what God shows you.
