DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, August 17 is Move Up Day\, which means kids (grades K-7) “age up” to the next level! New kindergarteners will move from the preschool area downstairs to the elementary area upstairs\, new 7th graders will age out of the kids area and into the youth group\, and everyone grades K-7 will be assigned a new small group leader! \nToddlers and preschoolers change classrooms throughout the year based on their age and child:adult ratios\, and junior/senior high schoolers typically stick with their assigned small group leader(s) year to year. But for our K-7 graders\, this time of transition is an exciting one\, and we like to celebrate in style. 🙂

DESCRIPTION:The first response many think of when defining the purpose of the Church Board is\, “those who provide oversite and accountability to the church\, pastor and staff\, general ministry\, and financial stewardship.” However\, Board members do much more than manage the church. \nOur Board is composed of 8 individuals elected by the congregation. During our annual elections\, we elect four Board members\, each of which serves for two years. By overlapping these two-year terms\, we elect half our Board each year which ensures leadership continuity year-over-year. \nThe Board serves as a connection between pastor and church–a conduit for the sharing of vision\, mission\, concern\, needs\, and direction. Board members support\, care for\, and work with the pastor and staff to move the church forward with purpose and intentionality. They also help create and sustain spiritual and relational vitality in the church and add community context\, bringing a broader understanding of our changing culture and opportunities for ministry and evangelism. \nWe ask that you be in prayer for our church in advance of these upcoming annual elections.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered\, grace-filled\, 12-step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurts\, hang-ups\, or habits of any kind. \nCR at The Well provides a safe space for anyone (and everyone!) to get honest about our personal struggles and the negative ways we see ourselves\, God\, and others as we seek long-lasting healing\, healthy truths\, and life-giving freedom. We were not created to face our pain alone! \nDinner is available between 5:30-6:00pm in the Whiteford Activity Center\, courtesy of The Hope Center in Marysville. From 6:30-7:30pm we have our large group meeting\, which includes a time of worship through music and alternates between teaching from the Recovery Principals and sharing the testimony of how fellow strugglers have experienced God’s grace and healing. Open Share is available weekly at 7:30pm\, offering issue- and gender-specific groups designed to provide opportunities for us to share our struggles and victories without judgement. \nChildcare is available for ages birth thru 6th grade.

DESCRIPTION:Darkness is not measurable\, but rather understood as the absence of light. Hope is best recognized in seasons of waiting for what is absent… often waiting in the dark. John 1:5 tells of the birth of Jesus using the image of light: “The light shines in the darkness\, and the darkness has not overcome it.” \nThis Christmas Eve\, we will emerge from the shadows\, overcome the darkness\, and worship the light that still shines!

DESCRIPTION:We look forward to getting out to enjoy nature while engaging in a time of intentional prayer and reflection\, and ladies–we’d love for you to join us! It’s approximately a quarter-mile walk\, and we’ll have six prayer stations along the way. There’s no need to RSVP! \nIn case of rain\, the prayer walk will be relocated to the church (in the Whiteford Activity Center.)
