Darkness is not measurable, but rather understood as the absence of light. Hope is best recognized in seasons of waiting for what is absent… often waiting in the dark. John 1:5 tells of the birth of Jesus using the image of light: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

This Christmas Eve, we will emerge from the shadows, overcome the darkness, and worship the light that still shines!
