Crisis Care Kits
Every year, disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, conflicts, and floods leave people facing both immediate and long-term needs. Local churches in these communities are positioned to walk alongside individuals and families with the hope of Christ while they recover—a walk that often begins with a Crisis Care Kit. The support a kit provides is a tangible reminder that even during the worst of times, God’s love is near.
Through the Northwestern Ohio District’s partnership with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries and Nazarene Missions International, we are committed to serving others and showing God’s love in action by collecting Crisis Care Kits to bless the most vulnerable during an emergency.
Crisis Care Kits include the following items:
- 1 medium-size bottle of non-medicated shampoo (12-18oz), with flip-tops taped closed with heavy packing tape
- 2 bars of soap, bath-size or larger, in original packaging
- 1 medium toothpaste (4-6.4oz), with an expiration date of March 2027 or later
- 3 adult toothbrushes in original packaging
- 1 box of non-medicated, adhesive bandages (30ct or more)
- 1 fingernail clipper (no toenail clippers)
- 1 large, sturdy comb
- 2 hand towels, approximately 15″ x 28″ (no kitchen towels, bar wipes, or washcloths)
- 4 pocket-size packages of facial tissues
- 1 stuffed toy (6-8″ tall), soft and huggable
- 7 unscented sanitary pads (regular absorbancy, individually wrapped and placed in a 1-quart zip-close plastic bag
